Laser tag is a fun team-based activity for people of all ages to get involved in. Most laser guns are designed with an infrared laser that is invisible and completely safe, meaning players can enjoy the combat experience without the pain that can occur in Paintball.
At Battlefield Live, the laser tag guns have been developed by Battlefield Sports to create a laser gun that is realistic with the addition of the safe infra-red laser so everyone can have fun with the Battlefield Live combat experience.
Players will also find a range of different games that are played at Battlefield Live, starting from Team Deathmatch, Last Man Standing, Domination, Capture the Flag and Capture the Base.
This is one of the most popular games within laser tag with simple rules and a competitive edge. Two teams will compete to get the most eliminations. By the end of the game, the team with the most deaths registered on their respawn box will lose.
The finale to the Battlefield Live experience is last man standing. If you haven’t already guessed from the name of the game, the winner of this game will be the team with the most team members alive by the end. Once players are eliminated, they will be removed from the game, leaving the remainder of their team to get the win.
When the game starts, a domination box can be found in the middle of the battlefield. The aim of the game is to register the most time of dominating the box over the course of the game. Whichever team can register the most time on the box, will be crowned the winner.
To dominate the box, players can use their laser tag weapons to shoot the box, which will change the colour of the light on the box to their team’s assigned colour, indicating that they are dominating the box.
Once again, the name gives away the rules of this game, but if you haven’t already guessed, teams will compete to steal the opposition's flags. The team that has captured the most flags by the end of the game will be the winner.
To stop the opposition from capturing their flag, players can use their laser tag weapons to eliminate the pushing team. If someone is eliminated whilst carrying the flag, they will need to stand in their spot with the flag, waiting for a teammate to rescue it.
Finally, we have capture the base. In this game mode, teams will compete to capture the central base. This is achieved by having the most team members alive in the middle of the base at the end of the game.
Teams can either choose to defend the base from the start of the game or choose to storm the base in the final moments of the game.
When you arrive, the first task will be picking your sides. Once divided into your squads, you will either be dressed in black or camo coveralls to identify your team.
After getting suited and booted, teams will be prepped about the rules of the game, with a run-through of how the laser guns work.
Each player has five health points and once depleted, your laser gun will make a noise to indicate that you are virtually dead. You can also use the screen on the side of the device to view your total health points.
Losing all your health points will force you to return to your respawn box to replenish your lives and bring you back into the game.
To take health points from your opponents, you will need to aim your red dot sight onto the receiver targets on your opponent’s hat or laser gun. Each hit you make will be indicated by a casualty voice note. If you manage to deplete all their lives, you will get a “kill confirmed” note instead.
Equipped with the rules and your laser guns, you will then head into the forest to play your games and achieve the most wins possible against your opponents.
No, laser tag involves zero pain. Each laser tag gun uses an infrared beam that has no impact on you as a player. Unlike paintball, there is no contact with laser tag. Instead, the lasers defeat opponents by targeting the receivers located on the player's gun and hat.
There is no age cap for those looking to play laser tag. However, we do recommend a minimum age of 7 as the laser guns carry weight, which can make it more difficult for younger players below that age.
Overall, anyone is able to play laser tag and the different games make for a fun gaming experience for all parties, whether you’re looking to book a kid's birthday party or you’re looking for an outdoor activity for a group of adults.
At Battlefield Live, we have a wide range of game modes to vary the gaming experience. This can go from simple games such as Team Deathmatch to more complex games like Capture the Flag.
Each game takes place within an outdoor forest, on a battlefield filled with barricades, towers, and broken-down jeeps for you to take cover in.
The concept is simple and involves no pain. Each player's laser gun will use an infrared beam that you must aim at your opponent’s hat or gun to defeat them.
If you are hit by one of your opponent’s lasers, your gun will make a noise to indicate that you have lost a health point. In total, you have five health points, and once depleted, you will need to return to the respawn box.
